Invicta Womens 6908 Collection Stainless
This is a very nice watch. High quality, clean look and the cobalt blue is beautiful. It is large but not prohibitively so. I was concerned about this, due to other reviews, to the degree that I actually looked at the woman's version (Invicta Women's 6908 II Collection Stainless Steel Watch) which would be a tad small for most average size men. Nice that there is a his and hers version which I don't believe is the case with many if not most watches. Enough said about the watch, now on to the band: It is also very nice and also very large and will need to be adjusted unless you're HUGE. If you're at all handy, buy the band adjustment tool at the same time you order the watch for three bucks and do it yourself. It qualifies as an add on, so no extra shipping charges apply. I was kicking myself that I had had no idea these things existed when I initially placed the order and since I didn't want to wait for a tool to arrive in the mail or go to a jeweler, I contrived a pin removal tool that worked (small pin, tack hammer and scrap 2 x 4 with a 90 degree notch). The tool tip needs to be around a 1/32 of an inch or 0.032".
Invicta makes one for $13.00 here:

Then there's the one with the hammer and 3 different size pin punches for $ 4.20 here:

And then the $2.89 SE Watchband Link Remover Tool, which is what I would have ordered here:

The pins that hold the band together are basically miniature cotter pins / split pins that are mushroomed on the open ended side of the pin. The arrows inside the band indicate the direction that the pins need to come out. If you closely look at the ends of the pins in the band you will see that one end appears as solid and the other as if it were a slotted screw. The "slotted" end is the one that needs to come out which means you have to push on the other end (the solid one). Its a little bit of a futsy operation, especially if you don't have the proper tools, but not all that bad. The clasp has an extra set of holes for the pin that holds the band on, providing approximately half of a link worth of final, fine adjustment.
All in all I'm extremely happy with my purchase and every time I go out, I look forward to wearing it (I never wear a watch at home or in the office). For some strange reason it is also a very comfortable watch to wear albeit its large size. If it appeals to you and you love Cobalt Blue - buy it and I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.
It's a very nice watch. The dial face looks either purple or indigo blue depending on the available light. Great watch for the price. However, even with my glasses, it is hard to see the date.
BalasHapusBought this Nov 2010 and it still looks good until now (and I use this almost everyday). A wise purchase indeed! :)
BalasHapusI gave this watch 5 stars because of it's quality, and rich blue face color. The watch is solid and my mom loved it! This watch could easily be sold in the $100+ category!
BalasHapusWatch is very attractive and has a nice weight to it. Dial is very legible and watch came packaged beautifully! I hope to wear this timepiece for many years to come! Price was excellent for a quality watch and found best price on Amazon!
BalasHapusExcellant watch. Face is easy to read. Only con is the band is very large. I had to remove 5 links. Will need to be done by jeweler. I have received many complements on the watch.
BalasHapusI have had this watch for about six months. It looks as good as it did the day I got it. I wear it everyday. The ONLY thing I would change about it is there is a small bubble of glass over the date to magnify it. I don't need it yet, but I imagine one day I will appreciate that part. This is a great quality watch and the cobalt blue face is beautiful with the silver. Great everyday or dress watch.
BalasHapusI just love this watch. I wear it everyday and the dial and the date are both easy to see. The only negative was trying to make the band smaller. It comes with a very long band, but I took it to the watch repair shop and she shortened it for free.
BalasHapusI have been looking for a time piece that was simple clean and clear. I don't like digital watches, and have always favored the traditional clock face. When I seen this watch I had read all the reviews and decided to take a chance on it. Glad I did! I love it! I can see the time without having to squint and I can also see the date the date portion is magnified. It can sometimes be difficult to see, but I just adjust my angle and it's good. No regrets here!
BalasHapusI have had this watch for a couple weeks and really love it. It's beautiful, the time is easy to read and I can even see the date with my glasses. I get compliments on it and you can't beat the price.
