Letters Katie Middlefield Family Novel
This book is filled with situations that we all could face, not just the Amish. As the story unfolds, Katie and Johnny both realize they have let their wants become the focus of their lives rather than God being the center. Not only is it a book about self- soul searching for God's will but also about putting pride aside by letting others lend a helping hand, through love, prayer and friendship.
If you like real-life situations and are intrigued by the Amish community, it is a book that I would highly recommend reading. Letter writing plays an important part in this book, but so not to give it away, I'll just say you need to read it to understand the title. It is an uplifting read.

Even though I felt a bit lost at times reading Letters to Katie by Kathleen Fuller, I highly recommend this book. I have to say the reason I felt lost, is because of the fact that I didn't read the first two books, not because of anything amiss in the author's writing.
BalasHapusKatherine has long yearned for Johnny's affection, and never once does he give any indication that he cares for her one iota. Meanwhile, Johnny comes to care for Katherine, but hides his feelings from her, because he's first trying to make himself worthy of her by establishing a horse farm on his own.
They both learn much about themselves throughout the story, which I really like. The characters aren't portrayed as perfect, but as humans who have much to learn about life and about God.
Other side stories are thrown in that have to do with the previous books. They add to, rather than detract from the story, as it's all woven together beautifully.
I received this book free from booksneeze.com reviewer's program in exchange for this review.
If you love Amish fiction this is a must read. It is a wonderful story with a good plot. Characters are vivid and memorable.
BalasHapusI received an ebook free from www.booksneeze.com for my honest opinion.
BalasHapusI really enjoyed Letters to Katie, it was the first Amish themed book I'd ever read.
Kind of jumped around a little bit at the beginning, but once I got into the book, it made it easier to keep up. Then by the end of the book, I understand why it was done that way. You have to know all the character's to make the end make sense. Excited to try more Amish themed books now.
Letters to Katie by Kathleen Fuller is magical. This is the story of Katie Yoder and Johnny Mullet and how they come together with the guidance of God. We read that both Katie and Johnny are not happy in life because of their wants and pride but once they let go of this kind of life they began to get what they wanted all along with a pure heart. I feel like this novel was exactly representative of a life filled with too many wants and not enough belief in a higher power. This is the kind of story that stays with you days after.
BalasHapus"Letters to Katie" by Kathleen Fuller, book review
BalasHapusThis is the newest in the Middlefield Family Novels and we see many of the same characters as in previous books. Katherine Yoder has had her eye on Johnny Mullet since they were children in school together, and he has disappointed her so many times that she thinks she should give up, but does not want to, quite yet. Johnny wants to prove to himself, his family and community that he can make something of himself, so he buys a small farm to begin his dream a horse farm.
Meanwhile, Sawyer and Laura, who we met in the previous book, are preparing for marriage, but this decision seems to be complicated by both of their families. Sawyer's grandmother, Cora, wants him to return to New York and run the family business. While Laura's family is concerned that she is rushing into marriage to quickly again and will be hurt.
This novel is easy to read and enjoyable. The strong family ties that we often see in Amish communities was very evident in this book. And the ability of the community to care for those in and out of their bounds was quite refreshing. While this book will stand alone, it is better read after the previous ones in the series.
